PADI Tec 50 Course – Master Deep Technical Diving in Malta
The PADI Tec 50 course is the final step in the Tec Deep Diver program, designed for divers ready to push beyond recreational limits. Completing this course certifies you as a competent technical diver capable of planning and executing complex dives to a maximum depth of 50 metres. Malta’s deep waters provide the perfect environment for this advanced training, allowing you to gain real-world experience in challenging dive conditions. The course builds on what you’ve learned in PADI Tec 45 and introduces more sophisticated dive planning, equipment handling, and emergency management techniques.
What’s Involved?
Throughout the PADI Tec 50 course, you’ll perform actual decompression dives using enriched air nitrox and/or oxygen for accelerated decompression. You’ll learn to use technical diving equipment, including two stage/decompression cylinders, to safely manage extended dive profiles. The course includes practical sessions where you’ll apply advanced decompression theory, dive planning, and gas management techniques using desktop decompression software. By the end of the course, you’ll be qualified to make technical decompression dives independently, opening the door to more challenging diving expeditions in Malta and beyond.
Certification Benefits
With a PADI Tec 50 certification, you can dive to depths of up to 50 metres using a technical configuration setup. You’ll be able to handle two stage bottles with up to 100% oxygen for accelerated decompression, giving you the skills needed to explore deeper and more complex dive sites.

The course typically spans 3-4 days, allowing for intensive training that fits into a standard holiday in Malta. This timeframe ensures you gain sufficient hands-on experience while enjoying the beauty of Malta’s underwater landscapes.

It’s an excellent choice for divers looking to expand their technical diving horizons even further.
