PADI Tec 40 Course – Dive into Technical Diving in Malta
Ready to take your first step into technical diving? The PADI Tec 40 course in Malta offers the perfect introduction to tec diving, bridging the gap between recreational diving and advanced technical courses. Designed to stay within recreational limits, Tec 40 gives you the foundational skills needed to explore deeper waters safely. Experience the thrill of technical diving in Malta’s crystal-clear waters, known for their unique underwater landscapes.
What’s Involved?
The PADI Tec 40 course focuses on essential entry-level technical diving skills. You’ll learn to use a twinset, perform shutdowns, and manage stage cylinders. This course introduces you to tec diving without the larger commitment required by more advanced courses like PADI Tec 45 and PADI Tec 50. It’s the perfect way to dip your toes into the world of technical diving while enjoying the beautiful diving sites Malta has to offer.
Certification Benefits
With your PADI Tec 40 certification, you’ll be equipped to dive to a maximum depth of 40 metres, making technical dives within decompression limits. You’ll also learn to set up and use a technical diving equipment configuration, including using enriched air with up to 50% oxygen to make your dives safer. Malta’s diverse underwater environment provides the perfect backdrop to apply these new skills.
Course Duration
Expect to complete the PADI Tec 40 course in 2-3 days. This intensive yet manageable timeframe allows you to gain substantial technical diving experience in a short period, making it an excellent choice for those visiting Malta.
Tec 40 Trimix Upgrade
The Tec 40 Trimix optional add on enhances your PADI Tec 40 course by introducing you to the use of trimix, a gas blend that includes helium, in addition to oxygen and nitrogen. Trimix is valuable for technical divers because it reduces the effects of narcosis at depth, making deeper dives safer and more manageable. With this addon, you’ll learn to dive with a trimix blend that contains between 21% oxygen and up to 35% helium, giving you a taste of more advanced technical diving techniques. This addition also prepares you for future courses where trimix becomes a critical component of deep technical dives.
This option is ideal for divers who want to begin exploring the benefits of trimix early in their technical diving education, allowing for safer, clearer-headed dives as you progress deeper into technical diving limits.
