TDI Technical DPV Course Malta

The TDI Technical DPV course in Malta trains certified divers to safely plan and execute technical DPV dives, including dives with decompression obligations, using structured propulsion procedures and disciplined team protocols.

This course is ideal if you want to extend range, reduce workload, and manage technical dive profiles more efficiently – while keeping control over navigation, gas planning, and emergency procedures.

What Can I Do With My Certification?

On successful completion, you will be qualified to:

• Plan and execute technical DPV dives safely

• Conduct DPV dives that include decompression, where appropriate within your broader technical qualifications

Course Standards & Limits

TDI Technical DPV training is conducted within defined limits to ensure the core DPV skills are taught with control and consistency:

• Minimum dives: 2 DPV dives

• Minimum accumulated bottom time: 60 minutes total

• Maximum depth: 40 metres / 130 feet (dives must not exceed this limit)

Course Duration

Duration: 2 Days

This course is usually scheduled over two days to allow for:

• DPV setup, briefing and planning

• Skills development and open water execution

• Debriefs, performance review and refinement

Student Prerequisites

To enrol in the TDI Technical DPV course, you must:

• Minimum age: 18

• Certification: SDI Open Water Scuba Diver (or equivalent)

• Logged dives: minimum 25
