TDI CCR Air Diluent Deco Diver is the one way for experienced divers wishing to start using CCR for decompression diving with an option of using mixed gas diving a (helitrox) diluent.
Using a rebreather for technical diving is the way forward. The continuous increase in helium prices is just one reason to switch to CCR diving. The comfort of breathing warm, moisturised gas throughout the dive makes you less dehydrated and less cold which is essential for effective decompression. No more cutting dive short because of reaching turn pressure! With rebreather diving, you can enjoy the amazing deep wrecks of Malta (and other places of course) on longer dives.
All rebreathers that we are teaching are available for purchase as well. The most popular CCR units at the moment are the X-CCR, JJ-CCR, and rEvo but see the full list below.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The TDI Air Diluent Deco course consists of a minimum of 8 dives. You will learn about unit maintenance and care, and small repairs. Skills are including diving with the rebreather, buoyancy control and monitoring ppO2 in different ways. Dive planning, as well as simulated emergencies, will make you well-prepared for diving without instructor supervision. The two options for certification are depending on how comfortable you are on the unit, you can either get certified as an Air Diluent Deco diver or Helitrox Diver.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATION?
Qualifies diver to 40 m using air/nitrox or 45 m helitrox diluent for deco diving. In this case Max 20% helium in mixes and min 21% O2 and 100% O2 for deco.
