Additional Prerequisites Explained

For Decompression Diving Instructor candidates, you must:

• Hold the following SSI Instructor Specialty ratings:

  • Deep Diving Specialty Instructor

  • Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty Instructor

  • Science of Diving Specialty Instructor

• Demonstrate the ability to plan and conduct Open Water Training Dive 3 as outlined in the SSI Decompression Diving Instructor manual.

(3) Gas Blender Nitrox/Trimix Instructor – additional requirements

For Gas Blender Nitrox/Trimix Instructor, you must also hold:

• Gas Blender certification

• Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor
