What to Expect from the PADI Open Water Course

During the 6-day programme, the first three days are dedicated to the PADI Open Water Diver course. Here’s a brief overview of what you’ll cover:

Day 1-3: PADI Open Water Diver

  • Knowledge Development: Theory sessions to understand the basics of scuba diving, including dive equipment, underwater signals, and safety procedures.
  • Confined Water Dives: Practiced in confined open water, learning essential skills such as buoyancy control, mask clearing, and regulator recovery.

By the end of the third day, you’ll have completed your PADI Open Water Diver course. Earning you the PADI Open Water Diver certification, able to dive up to 18 metres deep.

With the basics under your belt, it’s time to advance your diving skills. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course allows you to explore specialised diving interests. Gaining more confidence and experience under the guidance of a PADI Instructor.

The remaining three days of the 6-day programme are focused on the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. Here you’ll do five fun Adventure Dives and visit some of Malta’s top dive sites.

  • Deep Adventure Dive: Explore deeper dive sites safely, managing the logistical aspects of deep diving and potential challenges. (Maximum 30m)
  • Underwater Navigation Dive: Fine-tune your compass navigation skills and learn to use natural clues for better orientation underwater.
  • Elective Adventure Dives: Choose three more dives from options like Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck Diving, Night Diving, or Underwater Naturalist. Depending on your interests and weather conditions.
